sam was a bot to facilitate interacting with an IRC server over text or multimedia messages sent from a phone. sam will join a network and channel, and then interpret commands to send messages to a phone from users in the channel. The reverse is also possible, by texting a certain email sam will post text into the channel on behalf of the user. If you send an MMS message to the same email, he will extract any images and host them in his homedir and post the link in IRC
